Founded in 2017, headquartered in Silicon Valley with R&D and production facilities in Tucson, the team has spent close to a decade scaling sulfide solid electrolytes from laboratory synthesis to commercial production. More than 25 patents, cells holding 5,000 cycles above 80% capacity, 0 to 80% charge in under 15 minutes.

Ampcera’s team approached us before preparing for a raise and a period of rapid market expansion. The brand and communication system had not kept pace with the technology. DOE grants, national lab collaborations, and an automotive partner were already in place, but investors, automotive partners, and government stakeholders were forming their view of the company from materials that understated its position.

We became the design partner across the full communication system for the next 9 months.

The repositioning moved Ampcera from a materials supplier to a materials platform. Rather than leading with electrolyte specifications, we built the narrative around what the material enables downstream: range, charge time, intrinsic safety, and a domestically sourced solid-state supply chain. Technical data was designed for comprehension rather than compiled into specification tables. Each audience received the same position, structured for the decision in front of them.

This partnership resulted in $10M in DOE grants, 80 inbounds, 1 JV. Ampcera is now evaluated as a category leader in solid state rather than one supplier among several.
